TEST DRIVE - JUNE 2017

Welcome to the very first Test Drive Meme for Gacha Hell: The RP! You know the drill - comment below and form threads to get a feel for the game, decide on a character, and establish an RP sample for your application.

Be aware that, for all characters who join during this first app cycle, the initial free Pull will have double weight applied to ★★★★★ regains!

☆ REGAIN PROMPTS

These prompts are related to regains! Don't have any of those? We've got you covered - mosey on over to the Pull Simulator and click the button for a randomized pull of regains, then use those for your TDM prompts. Of course, you aren't beholden to the results - since this is just a simulator, you can reroll as much as you want, or even just make up some original regains for the purposes of your toplevel.

R1. Memory Regains: Congratulations! You rolled some memories, which have been instantly uploaded into your brain. Maybe you're looking for the person whose memories they originally were, or maybe you've found them and are ready to swap regains to give them back. Or, maybe you just opened the capsule, and you're still reeling from the mental impact. Having someone else's memories in your head is a confusing experience, so it can take a bit of adjustment to get used to the sensation.

R2. Ability Regains: Congratulations! You rolled a new ability, and you can now do things you never could before. Why not give your newfound skills a whirl to see how they work? If they're supernatural, they might be a little hard to control at first - hopefully nothing disastrous happens as a direct result of that.

R3. Item Regains: Congratulations! You rolled... something, and possibly due to a glitch in the system, it spawned right there in Gacha Central, rather than being sent to your apartment. What the hell is this, and what purpose could it possibly serve? Does it have any secret powers, or is it just a weird curio of another person's life? Experiment with it to see what it can do, auction it off to see if you can find its original owner, or maybe just figure out how the hell you're going to get it back home on your own.

☆ QUEST PROMPTS

These prompts move beyond the gacha machine, and deal with the wider setting of Gacha City! Looks like some new monthly quests have rolled in, so it's time to debase yourself in the name of orbs.

Q1. Treasure Mountain Survival Shelter: Here, the rare monsters that would otherwise be fused into uncaring characters for bonus EXP can live in peace... but they do need taking care of, and there's an orb or two in it for you if you do your part. Diamond slimes, gold imps, platinum wisps... the bad news is, a lot of precious metals and crystals are also really hard. As much as these critters had a rough lot in life, they're high-energy, tough as steel, and prone to running into things. Your job is to make sure they get enough exercise. Good luck!

Q2. Fetch Quest: Looks like this month's quest is a randomized scavenger hunt! Some of the things you can find yourself, but some of them you'll have to fuse together from other items, which means you might have a bit of an adventure on your hands. Where the hell are you going to find an 'aged barber pole' for this?

☆ EVENT WORLD PROMPTS

It looks like Gacha City has connected to a new Event World! For the duration of this TDM, you have access to the wonderful world of Battle Arena Mermadia, an underwater kingdom where brave heroes meet on an ancient 3-laned arena for 5-on-5 battles to destroy the enemy team's Aqua Crystal. Don't worry about breathing - upon arrival, your body will automatically be converted to a new mermaid form so that you can engage with the locals without drowning. The name of the quest: Go out into the world, recruit some allies, and win those battles!

E1. The Meta: Before stepping out into the field of aquabattle, you'd better do your research, or you're as good as toast. Which heroes are in their prime right now? Who are their main counterpicks? Is Sharkbiter better top or mid? Would your own regain abilities be better served on support or hunting mobs in the reefs while your allies push towards the next tower? How can you synergize with your allies to make sure nobody gets ganked? What the hell is with all these items? Who designed this game?

E2: No Plan Survives: The match has begun, and it is predictably a complete disaster. Isn't anyone communicating? Where the hell has the healer gone? When did the enemy team get so damn buff? Praise the sea gods that death just means you respawn 30 seconds later, and see what you can do to salvage a catastrophe in the making!

R2 - New Ability Get: Zetta's Weaker Minion Summon

Madoka has the oddest feeling she should know how to use this katana. And that the summoning was familiar too. But until then...

She's amusing herself by seeing how many Prinnies high she can stack a staircase so they can make her ascend to the top and she can take a look around. Beats having to roll uphill.

This would probably be a better idea with minions that weren't high explosive penguins, dood.

E1 - Gettin' Meta with it

Okay so she was CLEARLY a support caster with her mermaid abilities - which apparently included a pair of propellers strapped to her waist, which even she has to admit is effin cool. But what kind of support? The kind of support focusing on slow, mana intensive roots and debuffs, with a heal. Clearly this called for coordination with...

"Hey, we got any stupidly mobile bursty ADC's in the house? Come with me if you want to crush Botlane and get sick kraken kills."

Rozalin had...well she'd stripped down to a corset basically, her dress being impractical for mermaid fights. She had the sword she'd gotten earlier. And she'd tried to find a 'class' that synergized with that, which had added a pair of cutlasses to her outfit.

...but the nonsense that girl was saying both got her attention and confused the hell out of her. "Are any of those words actually meaningful, or did you just blather until you found something that sounded like a good sentence structure?"

"Mobile, as in, gets around super quick. Bursty, as in, does a lot of damage all at once and then has to cool down before they do it again. ADC, as in, Attack Damage Carry, as in, can carry the entire damn team on their backs to the goal if they level up fast enough."

She turns to Rosalyn and grins. "I have snares, healing, and slowing spells along with an effoff huge sealing circle every minute and a half. Go down the bottom lane with me and eff them up with me - bottom, because we want two people on the team with the neutral Kraken, who gives the whole team buffs if we get it."

Okay well that's a bit descriptive of Rozalin's class-she thinks? Maybe? Mobile, almost certainly, but 'attack damage carry' was not something she was in any position to evaluate. She's some kind of mer-pirate, that's all the info she really grasps at this point

Rozalin is just going to...stare in shock at that proposal. "How do you know all of this? Have you played this game before? Who briefed you on this madness?" She gestured at the item list, in a three-ring binder of doom. "I have been reading this for three hours and still can't tell you if a Lightless Lantern is more useful than an Aegis!"

"Played the game this is ripping off, anyway. A LOT. And the answer to that one is what are you playing? and in your case - neither, save up for an Damn Amazing Blade or a Lancet Musket and basically nothing that doesn't make you hurt more when you hit. I'll get the Lantern and the Aegis in that order."

She flashes a huge grin. What of her memories she retained had prepared her for this very moment.

"Really? All I got from my memory drops was something about 'team alchemical' and some sort of horrible south seas vacation that never ever ended." And once again that chipper up-beatness came in to spoil her mood, like playing a violin with your foot. What memories she had, she was fairly sure, were not her own, were not even a set, and her fencing skill was more a compettitive fencer's than that of a professional sword-maid.

"If we get creamed, I am going to blame it on you."

"Eh that's par for the course playing a support anyway," she says.

And because this seems a good a time as any she unsheathes her katana and aims her turboprops downstream to Botlane. "My real question is why do boots make us go faster? Think about it."

Fast as those props might make her, Rozalin's tail could make her even faster in short bursts-practically teleporting, which would no doubt be useful. She held her sword at the ready, but was clearly watching unimportant background clutter instead of the lane.

"What do boots have to do with anything? There weren't any in the item list that I recall."

"Huh." She consults the item list. "...hot damn, they have flippers instead. That makes a little more sense, except, you know..."

Wait. She can't actually pop a wheelie with her turbines. She just uses them as drums instead, frowning.

"Uh, I don't know what any of that means, but I'm pretty quick and I can pop people in the face decently?"

Heartful Punch was enjoying being a mermaid; all her base athleticism had carried over to her fish tail, which made her pretty dang speedy.

"Doubtless it does Cool Shit on the third consecutive hit." Because DOTAlikes, that's why. "Not sure if you're a bruiser, an ADC, or a oh come on does this game seriously call them 'reefers.' Eff that they're now Hunters because reefers, really?"

Well when the jungle is actually a coral reef that makes some sense but still. Reefers. They're a thing.

HP snorted some laughter. "Pfft, reefers. That's the official name now, you're not allowed to change it."

She still had no idea what anything Madoka was saying meant, though.

"Anyway, let's go punch some dudes! Or dudettes."

"Punch a shark right in their dumb gills," she agrees, offering a fistbump.

Then she turbocharges her propellers, leaving a wake that speeds up allies. "Swim in the sparkly stuff and lets gank a fool."

Fistbump returned. Heck yeah.

She swam after, marveling at how fast she was going. Her regular swim speed was pretty quick, but whatever this foam was, it was speeding her along at an impressive pace.

"That's a pretty cool power you've got there!"

"Part of the event. Starting with that, picking up a root next for that sweet second-level kill, and a shield last with an effoff huge binding ring ulti.. Played a ton of games that work this way and I'm damn good at support... check your stats, it'll tell you what skills you got here."

Dang. Blue Team aren't out of position: frustrating. "Gonna ward up this seaweed then join me botlane proper?"

Literally nothing she said there made sense to HP.

"Wow you clearly know way more about this game than I do. Maaaaaybe you should lead."

"Suits me fine. Short version: don't check in the seaweed with your face, keep one eye glued to the minimap, and when I tie up an enemy champion you blast them with everything you've got."

Okay, she's pretty sure those things're weird looking penguins. Or at least she thinks so. At least flying on a spirit's back along with another summoner to the distant icy north and seeing and getting those odd birds explained to her isn't one of the memories she's lost, so she has some context at least.

She waves to get Madoka's attention, then signs, "That looks a little precarious."
