June Test Drive!
TEST DRIVE - JUNE 2017

Welcome to the very first Test Drive Meme for Gacha Hell: The RP! You know the drill - comment below and form threads to get a feel for the game, decide on a character, and establish an RP sample for your application.

If you want to know more about the game for writing your prompts, the directory is over here. Reserves are here, and Applications, when they open, will be here. Be aware that, for all characters who join during this first app cycle, the initial free Pull will have double weight applied to ★★★★★ regains!

REGAIN PROMPTS

These prompts are related to regains! Don't have any of those? We've got you covered - mosey on over to the Pull Simulator and click the button for a randomized pull of regains, then use those for your TDM prompts. Of course, you aren't beholden to the results - since this is just a simulator, you can reroll as much as you want, or even just make up some original regains for the purposes of your toplevel.

R1. Memory Regains: Congratulations! You rolled some memories, which have been instantly uploaded into your brain. Maybe you're looking for the person whose memories they originally were, or maybe you've found them and are ready to swap regains to give them back. Or, maybe you just opened the capsule, and you're still reeling from the mental impact. Having someone else's memories in your head is a confusing experience, so it can take a bit of adjustment to get used to the sensation.

R2. Ability Regains: Congratulations! You rolled a new ability, and you can now do things you never could before. Why not give your newfound skills a whirl to see how they work? If they're supernatural, they might be a little hard to control at first - hopefully nothing disastrous happens as a direct result of that.

R3. Item Regains: Congratulations! You rolled... something, and possibly due to a glitch in the system, it spawned right there in Gacha Central, rather than being sent to your apartment. What the hell is this, and what purpose could it possibly serve? Does it have any secret powers, or is it just a weird curio of another person's life? Experiment with it to see what it can do, auction it off to see if you can find its original owner, or maybe just figure out how the hell you're going to get it back home on your own.

QUEST PROMPTS

These prompts move beyond the gacha machine, and deal with the wider setting of Gacha City! Looks like some new monthly quests have rolled in, so it's time to debase yourself in the name of orbs.

Q1. Treasure Mountain Survival Shelter: Here, the rare monsters that would otherwise be fused into uncaring characters for bonus EXP can live in peace... but they do need taking care of, and there's an orb or two in it for you if you do your part. Diamond slimes, gold imps, platinum wisps... the bad news is, a lot of precious metals and crystals are also really hard. As much as these critters had a rough lot in life, they're high-energy, tough as steel, and prone to running into things. Your job is to make sure they get enough exercise. Good luck!

Q2. Fetch Quest: Looks like this month's quest is a randomized scavenger hunt! Some of the things you can find yourself, but some of them you'll have to fuse together from other items, which means you might have a bit of an adventure on your hands. Where the hell are you going to find an 'aged barber pole' for this?

EVENT WORLD PROMPTS

It looks like Gacha City has connected to a new Event World! For the duration of this TDM, you have access to the wonderful world of Battle Arena Mermadia, an underwater kingdom where brave heroes meet on an ancient 3-laned arena for 5-on-5 battles to destroy the enemy team's Aqua Crystal. Don't worry about breathing - upon arrival, your body will automatically be converted to a new mermaid form so that you can engage with the locals without drowning. The name of the quest: Go out into the world, recruit some allies, and win those battles!

E1. The Meta: Before stepping out into the field of aquabattle, you'd better do your research, or you're as good as toast. Which heroes are in their prime right now? Who are their main counterpicks? Is Sharkbiter better top or mid? Would your own regain abilities be better served on support or hunting mobs in the reefs while your allies push towards the next tower? How can you synergize with your allies to make sure nobody gets ganked? What the hell is with all these items? Who designed this game?

E2: No Plan Survives: The match has begun, and it is predictably a complete disaster. Isn't anyone communicating? Where the hell has the healer gone? When did the enemy team get so damn buff? Praise the sea gods that death just means you respawn 30 seconds later, and see what you can do to salvage a catastrophe in the making!

Marisa Kirisame | Touhou Project

R3

A five star pull! Marisa got a five star pull! She's VERY exicted up until she gets the item out of its capsule and finds...a rubber chicken. With a pully in the middle.

Marisa was peering at it from all kinds of weird angles, trying to figure out why this was rated five stars.

"It must have magic powers or something. Maybe it lets me speak to birds somehow. Can it lay eggs?"

Q2

There it is. The legendary x1 Large Gameboy. The last item you need to finish your quest.

Unfortunately it's also the last item Marisa needs to finish HER quest, and she's gotten her flying ability back for the purposes of this prompt. You're probably closer, but she's swooping down at a VERY high speed towards her prize. Run quick or she'll snatch it right out from under your nose!

E2

Marisa finally made it to the site of the teamfight about thirty seconds AFTER the rest of her team got nuked to hell. Normally she was pretty fast, but here...

Here she still had on her dress despite her new form. They'd shown her the shell bra that was the traditional garment for a mermaid and she'd whole heartedly refused to wear it. Now she realized WHY they dressed like that. This much fabric generated an awful lot of drag underwater. It left her slow.

She still had to try, though. Especially since running away wan't really an option. She raised her firsts, which were enveloped in a glowing heart shaped aura, courtesy of one Heartful Punch, and prepared to sell her life as dearly as she could.

"Come on then! I'll take you all on together!"

"I'm pretty sure that's a rubber chicken," Ember supplies helpfully from nearby. "Sometimes, if you squeeze one it'll squeak."

She doesn't feel bad for the five-star rubber chicken, though. Not when she got naval artillery. It's still sitting off to the side, stupidly huge and unmovable.
untilidie: (Not a clue)

[personal profile] untilidie 2017-06-11 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
She squeezes the rubber chicken. It lets out a half hearted squeak. It couldn't let out a proper one because most of the body was taken up by the pully.

"Maybe it can become a tsukumogami?"
itemer: (/craft)

[personal profile] itemer 2017-06-11 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that pulley is new for Ember as well. Why would a rubber chicken even need that...?

"Ah, uh, what now? Tsuku...yomi?" Don't throw weird terms out at her, she's not that much of a nerd.

[personal profile] untilidie 2017-06-11 02:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Man what kind of weird place does she come from where tsukumogami aren't just a fact of everyday life?

"A tsukumogami? You know, when a tool or object gets old enough that it gains self-awareness and starts talking and moving around on it's own? It must be something pretty powerful if it's worth five stars."

Q2

[personal profile] phobophage 2017-06-10 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
By this point, Deimonea was in no mood for messing around. She wanted her goddamn memories back and so she wanted that stupid oversized Gameboy. It didn't help her mood either that she had regained a memory of being treated as a lab subject/experimental weapon. So she acted quickly, pointing the sword she'd received. Lightning arced from it, shooting out at Marsia. Admittedly it was pretty weak lightning--Deimonea might have vast psychic might, but that wasn't magical might. But all she was aiming for was a distraction while she dashed forward toward the prize.

[personal profile] untilidie 2017-06-11 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
It...sort of worked. Marisa yelped as she got zapped and tumbled off course, barreling into Deimonea herself at high speeds.
phobophage: (bah)

[personal profile] phobophage 2017-06-11 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
The last thing on Deimonea's face before Marisa crashed into her was this "Really?" expression. And then there was a weird goo of coalesced nightmares, every one an unsettling image, slowly reforming into a humanoid shape. She might've lost every one of her other capabilities, but she had never lost her body's strange properties.
untilidie: (H-hey!)

[personal profile] untilidie 2017-06-11 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Marisa was so surprised at having gone through Deimonea (and what a disturbing experience THAT had been. She shuddered.) that she almost didn't pull up in time to avoid actually crashing into the ground. She braked and power slid through the air, kicking up clouds of dust that didn't have a clear origin, and made to turn around and go for the gameboy again!
phobophage: (eyes within eyes)

What say they both end up destroying the gameboy in their struggles for it?

[personal profile] phobophage 2017-06-11 12:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, lovely. This stranger's still persistent. And Deimonea'd never really practiced running. So she does something very simple: she rapidly extends out a tendril of nightmare goo at high speed toward the gameboy.
untilidie: (No mercy for an unruly youkai)

Sounds about right

[personal profile] untilidie 2017-06-11 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Marisa grabbed the gameboy just a split second before Deimonea's tentacle arm reached it with a shouted "ha HA!"

Her grip on it wasn't good, though. As she started pulling up and making faces back at her, the gameboy slipped from her fingers and fell twenty feet down. It must have been a defective copy or something, because everyone knows true gameboys are damn near invincible and this one shattered into a pile of splintered electronics after falling only that far.

Q2

[personal profile] effthecops 2017-06-11 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
"HELL TO THE NO, THAT ONE'S MIIIIIINE" Mae is sprinting full force towards the 1x Large Gameboy that's sitting out in the open in the middle of Gatcha City. Who cares why it was there, that detail's not important.

She's got her baseball bat way up over her head like she's... gonna bash the Gameboy's face in or something, though maybe she's just yelling and posturing to try and scare Marisa off. Like it'll work.
untilidie: (H-hey!)

[personal profile] untilidie 2017-06-11 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
Marisa is hard to scare off, but she does look alarmed at the prospect of Mae just breaking the stupid thing. "WAIT DON'T BREAK IT!"

Course correction. Instead of aiming for the 1x Large Gameboy, Marisa was now aiming to dive in front of it before Mae destroyed her precious precious drops.
effthecops: (why are mornings)

[personal profile] effthecops 2017-06-11 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
If Mae was any smarter, then that would have been her plan all along.

Mae is not smart. Which is why she ends up running straight into the dive-bombing Marisa instead of just letting the witch crash in front of her, her baseball bat clattering to the ground when she loses the grip.
untilidie: (Gross)

[personal profile] untilidie 2017-06-11 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Gameboy: demoted to secondary priority. New priority: escape from heap of anthrocat. Step one: groan a lot.

"Ow ow ow what the heck!?"
effthecops: (about to puke probably)

[personal profile] effthecops 2017-06-11 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Dude... I called dibs." Mae did not actually call dibs. "Ugh... hopefully I didn't break anything..."

She's trying to extricate herself from the tangle, rolling away from Marisa.
untilidie: (Listen up!)

[personal profile] untilidie 2017-06-12 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
"How about I use it first, then you can use it second?"

Don't these drops get destroyed when they're used?

"And you have my sword!" Madoka whoops, appearing out of the reef like lightning and turbo-powering the turbines BAM saw fit to give her instead of a wheelchair. Leaving a shimmering current that speeds up anything swimming with it.

Damn it feels good to be a support.

"Which one is the squishiest? Gimme your target, my E is a root!"
