June 2017 Test Drive
Welcome to the very first Test Drive Meme for Gacha Hell: The RP! You know the drill - comment below and form threads to get a feel for the game, decide on a character, and establish an RP sample for your application.
If you want to know more about the game for writing your prompts, the directory is over here. Reserves are here, and Applications, when they open, will be here. Be aware that, for all characters who join during this first app cycle, the initial free Pull will have double weight applied to ★★★★★ regains!
☆ REGAIN PROMPTSThese prompts are related to regains! Don't have any of those? We've got you covered - mosey on over to the Pull Simulator and click the button for a randomized pull of regains, then use those for your TDM prompts. Of course, you aren't beholden to the results - since this is just a simulator, you can reroll as much as you want, or even just make up some original regains for the purposes of your toplevel.
R1. Memory Regains: Congratulations! You rolled some memories, which have been instantly uploaded into your brain. Maybe you're looking for the person whose memories they originally were, or maybe you've found them and are ready to swap regains to give them back. Or, maybe you just opened the capsule, and you're still reeling from the mental impact. Having someone else's memories in your head is a confusing experience, so it can take a bit of adjustment to get used to the sensation.
R2. Ability Regains: Congratulations! You rolled a new ability, and you can now do things you never could before. Why not give your newfound skills a whirl to see how they work? If they're supernatural, they might be a little hard to control at first - hopefully nothing disastrous happens as a direct result of that.
R3. Item Regains: Congratulations! You rolled... something, and possibly due to a glitch in the system, it spawned right there in Gacha Central, rather than being sent to your apartment. What the hell is this, and what purpose could it possibly serve? Does it have any secret powers, or is it just a weird curio of another person's life? Experiment with it to see what it can do, auction it off to see if you can find its original owner, or maybe just figure out how the hell you're going to get it back home on your own.
☆ QUEST PROMPTSThese prompts move beyond the gacha machine, and deal with the wider setting of Gacha City! Looks like some new monthly quests have rolled in, so it's time to debase yourself in the name of orbs.
Q1. Treasure Mountain Survival Shelter: Here, the rare monsters that would otherwise be fused into uncaring characters for bonus EXP can live in peace... but they do need taking care of, and there's an orb or two in it for you if you do your part. Diamond slimes, gold imps, platinum wisps... the bad news is, a lot of precious metals and crystals are also really hard. As much as these critters had a rough lot in life, they're high-energy, tough as steel, and prone to running into things. Your job is to make sure they get enough exercise. Good luck!
Q2. Fetch Quest: Looks like this month's quest is a randomized scavenger hunt! Some of the things you can find yourself, but some of them you'll have to fuse together from other items, which means you might have a bit of an adventure on your hands. Where the hell are you going to find an 'aged barber pole' for this?
☆ EVENT WORLD PROMPTSIt looks like Gacha City has connected to a new Event World! For the duration of this TDM, you have access to the wonderful world of Battle Arena Mermadia, an underwater kingdom where brave heroes meet on an ancient 3-laned arena for 5-on-5 battles to destroy the enemy team's Aqua Crystal. Don't worry about breathing - upon arrival, your body will automatically be converted to a new mermaid form so that you can engage with the locals without drowning. The name of the quest: Go out into the world, recruit some allies, and win those battles!
E1. The Meta: Before stepping out into the field of aquabattle, you'd better do your research, or you're as good as toast. Which heroes are in their prime right now? Who are their main counterpicks? Is Sharkbiter better top or mid? Would your own regain abilities be better served on support or hunting mobs in the reefs while your allies push towards the next tower? How can you synergize with your allies to make sure nobody gets ganked? What the hell is with all these items? Who designed this game?
E2: No Plan Survives: The match has begun, and it is predictably a complete disaster. Isn't anyone communicating? Where the hell has the healer gone? When did the enemy team get so damn buff? Praise the sea gods that death just means you respawn 30 seconds later, and see what you can do to salvage a catastrophe in the making!
Heartful Punch | Sleepless Domain
"Uhhhh."
She'd opened up the capsule, and suddenly her body felt weird. It took her a moment to work out exactly what had happened: she was stretchy now. She gave her left arm a good yank, and it stretched like it was made of taffy. Fortunately, she was able to push it back in as easily, although it took her a few seconds of adjusting until she was satisfied it was the original length.
"I'm pretty sure this isn't mine," she said to nobody in particular. She tugged on her forelock and it stretched as well...which gave her an idea. She found a reflective surface and began playing with her pink hair, pulling and pushing it. It was a much more convenient way of experimenting with different hairstyles than growing and cutting it normally!
"What do you think?" she asked a random passerby as she turned away, her hair now boyishly short. "How's it look? Uh, if it's not too much trouble to ask," she said, suddenly realizing that accosting random strangers for beauty tips was a bit rude.
E2:
Swimming wildly through The Coral Jungle, Heartful Punch ducked under a fire blast, juked to the right around around a second, and stopped short as a big rock fell right in front of her. Her pursuers were all around her, but she could see the Tower right ahead of her, promising safety if only she could reach it.
Suddenly, a chain lashed out of the darkness, wrapping itself around her fins, holding her in place. "No no no no no--"
And then, with a flash of light, she was back at the spawn point, sprawled out on the ground. The game clock, hovering overhead, showed that it was thirty second later.
"Dang it!" she said, punching the ground in frustration. That was the third time she'd gotten ganked, and the battle had barely been on for ten minutes! They just came out of nowhere, and even though she was pretty sure she could punch one of them up pretty good, that didn't help much when three of them jumped her at the same time. It also didn't help that punching underwater was proving more challenging than she'd anticipated.
She rose up, slapping her cheeks a couple of times. Okay. No point getting mad at it. The other team was way ahead now. What were they going to do to turn it around?
There was another flash of light, and the respawner dumped some other poor sap onto the ground next to her. "Hey," she said, bending down and offering her hand. "It's not going so well, huh."
R2
She pauses once more, peering in a little closer. "Actually, it does look a little off..."
Like it's made out of gum.no subject
She's suddenly self-conscious. "Ahh, does it look weird?" she says, reaching up to cover it. "I've never had it short before, not since I was a kid."
no subject
It's gum, dumb dumb.
no subject
She pokes her own shoulder to demonstrate. It deforms unnaturally.
"That's probably why."
no subject
"That's... that's really weird."
no subject
She demonstrated by undoing the indentation, returning her shoulder to normal.
"But if nothing else, I can use it to make my hair do all kinds of crazy stuff, so that's cool."
E2
"The locals all know this game better than we do. Maybe we should just surrender and look for a weaker team..."
Re: E2
Her upbeat attitude was undercut a moment later when the kill counter flashed again, indicating that another one of their teammates had been killed, and HP's face fell in exasperation.
"Come on, seriously!?" she shouted, slapping her forehead.

Heartful Punch considered the situation for a moment.
"Well, that just means we need to make it easier for you to use it! I'll hold, you punch! Or kick. Or...whatever you do with fins."
no subject
Undine glanced at the increasingly-grim scoreboard over the aqua crystal. "Either way, we should probably have this conversation while moving."
no subject
She starts swimming towards a lane. She moves at a pretty decent clip, but it's casual for her.
"I mean, they've been catching me alone all game long. I think that's how the game is supposed to work. You find someone alone and gang up on them."
no subject
I mean, part of it is how they've all been playing on this map for years.
no subject
Brilliant scheme, HP, except for one thing: she'll probably be pulling a BUNCH of them at once.
E2
That's easier said than done, but being positive is always the first step in a successful plan. The run-of-the-mill Vertex were usually no problem for her, but she hasn't gotten her cell phone or any of her powers back yet. Without them, Yuna's little more than a teenage girl.
But darn it, she's the most enthusiastic teenage girl ever.
"Okay, captain!" Yuna gives a quick salute, grinning. "Do we defend or attack? If they're all close to the crystal, that means our coast should be clear, right?" The best defense is a good offense, and she usually leaves the strategy to Togo anyway.
Re: E2
The strategic elements of this game are kind of going over HP's head a bit, but she feels confident in that much.
no subject
Yuna trusts them to get the job done, but that doesn't mean she and HP can slack off. In a game about cooperation like this, everyone's effort is necessary.
"Splitting up is how we both got attacked, so I don't know if we should try that again...what would the other members of the Hero Club say...?"
She imagines them all giving their answers, one by one. Karin would be for attacking, obviously. Fuu would be the same, and her sister Itsuki would disagree. As for Togo...
"Okay. I think you're right. If we defend our side, we'll have more opportunities to attack later."
She's not even here, but Togo is still the driving force behind Yuna's decisions.

She began swimming away, towards the front lines. She really only knew one thing, which was that she was probably better at punching things than these other guys.
