JULY 2017 TEST DRIVE
Welcome to the July 2017 Test Drive Meme for Gacha Hell: The RP! You know the drill - comment below and form threads to get a feel for the game, decide on a character, and establish an RP sample for your application.
If you want to know more about the game for writing your prompts, the directory is over here. Reserves are here, and Applications, when they open, will be here. Be aware that, for all characters who join during this first app cycle, the initial free Pull will have double weight applied to ★★★★★ regains!
☆ REGAIN PROMPTSThese prompts are related to regains! Don't have any of those? We've got you covered - mosey on over to the Pull Simulator and click the button for a randomized pull of regains, then use those for your TDM prompts. Of course, you aren't beholden to the results - since this is just a simulator, you can reroll as much as you want, or even just make up some original regains for the purposes of your toplevel.
R1. Memory Regains: Congratulations! You rolled some memories, which have been instantly uploaded into your brain. Maybe you're looking for the person whose memories they originally were, or maybe you've found them and are ready to swap regains to give them back. Or, maybe you just opened the capsule, and you're still reeling from the mental impact. Having someone else's memories in your head is a confusing experience, so it can take a bit of adjustment to get used to the sensation.
R2. Ability Regains: Congratulations! You rolled a new ability, and you can now do things you never could before. Why not give your newfound skills a whirl to see how they work? If they're supernatural, they might be a little hard to control at first - hopefully nothing disastrous happens as a direct result of that.
R3. Item Regains: Congratulations! You rolled... something, and possibly due to a glitch in the system, it spawned right there in Gacha Central, rather than being sent to your apartment. What the hell is this, and what purpose could it possibly serve? Does it have any secret powers, or is it just a weird curio of another person's life? Experiment with it to see what it can do, auction it off to see if you can find its original owner, or maybe just figure out how the hell you're going to get it back home on your own.
☆ QUEST PROMPTSThese prompts move beyond the gacha machine, and deal with the wider setting of Gacha City! Looks like some new monthly quests have rolled in, so it's time to debase yourself in the name of orbs.
Q1. Treasure Mountain Survival Shelter: Here, the rare monsters that would otherwise be fused into uncaring characters for bonus EXP can live in peace... but they do need taking care of, and there's an orb or two in it for you if you do your part. Diamond slimes, gold imps, platinum wisps... the bad news is, a lot of precious metals and crystals are also really hard. As much as these critters had a rough lot in life, they're high-energy, tough as steel, and prone to running into things. Your job is to make sure they get enough exercise. Good luck!
Q2. Fetch Quest: Looks like this month's quest is a randomized scavenger hunt! Some of the things you can find yourself, but some of them you'll have to fuse together from other items, which means you might have a bit of an adventure on your hands. Where the hell are you going to find an 'aged barber pole' for this?
☆ EVENT WORLD PROMPTSIt looks like Gacha City has connected to a new Event World! For the duration of this TDM, you have access to the wonderful and slightly sticky Slimeworld, a sprawling maze of dungeons and wilderness surrounding a single central hub city. Train up the slimes you have, fuse slimes to get more, and send them into battle by playing a complex holographic Bejeweled clone!
E1. Welcome to Slimetown. A whole new world to explore! Upon arriving, a hundred sensations assail you at once, most of them slimy. Meet your new starter slime! Get harassed by vendors of slimes and slime-based products! Get hopelessly lost! Engage in some Slime Fusion once you've run a few dungeons!
E2. PVP. Wanna give the combat mechanics of this world a test run? Slime battle. Accidentally offended a local? Slime battle. Wandered into the wrong building by mistake? Slime battle. Broke the law? Slime battle.
E3. Slime Dungeons 101. It's your first dungeon run! The low-level areas look innocuous enough, but it's easy to get harassed and beaten up by slimes if you don't take them seriously. Time to form an unbreakable bond with your slime companion(s) and learn how to slide three slimes of the same color together in increasingly advanced patterns in the name of victory. You can try to use your own inherent combat abilities against the slimes, but they have massive damage resistance against non-slime-based weaponry, so it'll be an uphill battle. Don't worry, if you lose the slimes will usually just kick you back out to the entrance - people almost never die here.
E4. Out of Depth Encounter. Usually, it's pretty easy to tell what kind of slimes are gonna appear in a dungeon, but once in a blue moon, you get something unexpected. A flying magenta magma ooze wandered into the wrong zone, and what was once a bejeweled fight to grind rare items is now a bejeweled fight to survive! Will you stand your ground, or just try to back it back to the surface before facing another party wipe?
no subject
"I'm fine!" she says, her attention going back to the pile of smile that she'd been tenderizing. And, uh, it looks like it was just... slime. Not even sentient slime, just a thing of slime. She pushes herself up to her feet, wipes off her stockings with a disgusted look, and looks around for something else with a face.
"Blah blah blah... Ground Dasher!" she shouts, trying to fast-cast the arte. Nothing happens. "Crap."
didya know Namco did a Sgt. Frog game in the Tales style?
"This humble one seems to have little need to intervene, but I am glad to give any assistance." He stated, though he pauses as Rita tries and failed to perform some kind of magic.
"So you are also having trouble with accessing your abilities?"
i didn't but i'm totally unsurprised
"What kind of abilities are you supposed to have?" Well, look, tact isn't really her main concern right now. "It probably doesn't take much to swing a sword around."
it's even more self-referential than usual for Namco
Dororo swings, striking down a Nearly Invisible slime that leaped at them. "learn when to strike." The Keronian added, scanning their surroundings. "It seems they are slowing down, might we quit this place?"
that's no small feat, i'm almost impressed
She heads back over to where she'd dropped her casting scroll and picks it up, holding it at arm's length. "Let's go." Though she isn't actually ignoring that the two of them are in the middle of a fight, sort of, she's definitely fought much, much worse than a few slimes. Something about... some kind of. There's a man in a red coat, probably? In some kind of tower?
Ugh. She'll figure all this out after she can get her clothes cleaned.
